This hike to Villager Peak in the Santa Rosa Mountains of Anza Borrego Desert State Park is a rugged up and back climb through a harsh and beautiful desert landscape. The hike is located about 12 miles northeast of Borrego Springs, about two to three hours drive from San Diego or Los Angeles.

Driving Directions

The hike starts from the north side of S-22, about 5.6 miles east of the Lier Peg Leg Smith monument. There is a small sign at the parking area south of S-22 that reads "Thimble Trail".
