A wildfire, sparked Sunday, has forced closure the Vivian Creek Trail from Forest Falls to the summit of San Gorgonio Peak, according to the National Forest Service.
The 2,850-acre fire is burning on a remote portion of San Gorgonio Mountain, but is filling the nearby desert with smoke. Fire fighters, three of whom have been injured, worked through the night and have contained about 40 percent of the fire. While only the Vivian Creek Trail is closed, other nearby trails may be too smoky for enjoyable hiking.
