The owners of Mesa Rim, San Diego’s largest indoor rock climbing gym, are planning to open a new gym in Mission Valley in late 2015. Construction on the new gym started January 15.
The gym, called Mesa Rim Mission Valley, will be designed by Entre-Prises Climbing Walls, a company based in Bend, Oregon, and is expected to offer about 27,000 square feet of climbing surface and 150 climbing lines.
Lead climbing walls should reach over 50-feet in height, and the gym will offer bouldering zones, natural crack features and electronic articulating training walls. Plans also include a 15-meter speed climbing wall.
