Mountain bikers petition for skill course in Mission Trails park

The San Diego Mountain Biking Association collecting signatures for a petition to build a mountain biking skills course in Mission Trails Regional Park.

Here’s what the group has to say about the proposed course:

The current BMX site at Deerfield is barely usable, show your support to have the Mission Trails Regional Park to approve funding to provide the surrounding communities with a place for kids and adults alike to ride bikes and learn new skills. A bike skills park would serve the entire public, this would be a park for kids on striders, dirt jumpers, BMX riders or Mountain Bikers.

We have battled for some time to get a bike skills park in the City and the opportunity is finally here to have a safe place for kids to ride and a world class bike skills park right in Mission Trails. Show Mission Trails that this is something the community wants for their kids and families to ride.

This recently came about because of Developer Funds available from Grantville for a park equivalency. Please sign our petition to show your support for funding for this Bike Skills Park to be built which is already part of Mission Trails Master Plan Update.

We believe we can have a world class Bike Skills Park here in San Diego, recently the first Bike Skills Park in San Diego County broke ground in Valley Center. Show the Citizens Advisory Committee that the surrounding communities want a place for their kids to go and want a Bike Skills Park in San Diego.
