SoCal’s Signal Snowboards has a track record of coming up with attention grabbing ideas — their transparent board comes to mind.
Continuing that tradition, in November the snowboard manufacturer announced the Signal Subscription Service, where customers pay a monthly fee of $35 – $55 for a board and other perks, like demos of other Signal boards, an enhanced warranty and more robust customer service. Every 12 months, customers can get a new signal board.
It’s an interesting model. A board that runs $55 per month would cost $660 over a year (you get to keep the boards, so you could always sell them as you get a new one). Might make sense if you are someone who gets a new board each year, or want to spread the cost out over the year.
