Looking east from much of coastal Southern California, the mountains of Cleveland National Forest beckon in the distance. This 424,000-acre playground offers hiking, rockclimbing, mountain biking, 4-wheel-drive and dirt-bike trails, equestrian trails, camping and much more, all within easy access of Los Angeles, San Diego and the Inland Empire. The forest is divided into three sections, which stretch in a crescent along inland SoCal: the Descanso, Palomar and Trabuco Ranger Districts.
