The town of Idyllwild, California, is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise in Southern California, offering some of the region’s best rock climbing, hiking, mountaineering and–apropos the video above–mountain biking.

Located in the San Jacinto Mountains in Riverside, Idyllwild is home to a large hiking and mountain biking trail network, offering everything from beginner cruises to white-knuckle gnar runs. This video short, shot and directed by Niles Harrison of Los Angeles, captures action of the white-knuckle variety.

Harrison filmed his friend Cedar Kyes, who splits his time between the Bay Area and Bellingham, Washington, careening down a trails in The Hub, a trail network easily accessible from town (one trail seen in the video is named South Ridge).

“The Hub is the main zone for people looking to sample the flavor of trails in Idyllwild,” said Harrison. “There is also a bike shop named The Hub Cyclery in town, that is a great place to get maps and information.”
